I'm sure you know what the SSC Ultimate Aero is, correct? Well... I live about 2miles from where that car is built and I ran the old TA out to 160mph on the same stretch of road they broke the speed record on but the road wasn't blocked off like it was for him. I figure I was going almost 100mph slower than he was so I was OK. :D lol

I've lived in the area my whole life and everyone in my family loves cars to some extent or another and I'm old enough to remember the tail end of the muscle car era, the terrible '70's, the mediocre '80's, and the light at the end of the tunnel in the '90's for performance cars. My Dad and uncles and even a couple aunts could drive and had many muscle cars. My first driving experience at the speed of 60mph was setting on my uncles lap at 6yrs old in the drivers seat of a brand new 440 automatic 'Cuda. :D My step brother had 2, '73 340 4bbl Challengers and a '68 Charger 440 4-spd/auto (auto/4-spd depending on his flavor of the week) that he still has and it's still a 4-spd at the moment. My uncle with the 'Cuda later bought a new '77 TA 400, 4-spd, black and gold. My Dad bought a new '66 GTO tri-power 4-spd, I remember riding around at ludicrous speed in my other uncles '67 Shelby GT 350 he bought used in 1970. My first car was my Dad's hot rod 1964 Chevy 3/4 ton 4-spd PU, hopped up 'Vette 327 that I drove like I stole. My brother currently owns a '03 Mach I he's putting some hp and handling goodies on...

I could go on and on about it but in the end I guess I can say I've got the "bug" bad so I know where you are coming from. :D

Dark blue (Admiralty Blue in Pontiac lingo). It's the original color but I added the bird (hard to see it's there in this picture) because everyone told me it should have one. Back in '74 the bird was an option and this one didn't come with the added "sticker horse power" as we used to call it.

    P.S. What is YAK, BTW?
