In a blog post from Peter a bit back, he mentions people walking outside his office to tour the facility. They have always said they will be open to the public, so has anyone stopped by to visit, if so what did you see?
If anyone is close, can you stop by and see what you see?
I wonder if one issue we are seeing with the rumors is that the majority of the press for F1 is not based in the US. Speed could easily do a proper article and take pictures, but honestly F1 is not what pays the bills, so I do not blame them. But it would be a scoop that would surely drive traffic to the website from new areas.
I guess we are all a bit confused by what is really going on, how old are the videos for example on the website, are the months old or current.
Blogs are talking about missed payroll, other wild rumors about buyouts, etc. In F1 we generally know that rumors at some point turn around to be true, they are denied like crazy and then suddenly you have Alonso at Ferrari for example (for just a recent one). Part of me wants to believe all these rumors to be false, but given the history of rumors in F1 I have to wonder. All this could be solved by some new videos, current pictures, dating the videos from now on, etc. Let Speed do an article, or where it the webcam of the car bays.
While my heart is with Ferrari and always will be, long story but on a trip to visit my family in Europe as a little boy my uncle help foster that love affair for F1 and Ferrari. You know the bus stop chicane at Spa, now gone, but I actually got off the bus there many times as a young child. Driven on the track later on in life as well. So oddly Spa is my favorite! ;)
Being an American I want to see USF1 do well, and I wish them the best, right now I really wish they would give us more information. Other teams are testing, so there is no reason to be so silent anymore, nobody is going to steel the gearbox idea, or the diffuser. Just come out of the garage and let us know what is going on, if you are going to be late, be honest, don't pull the usual F1 trick of lying.
