No issues with who got the money, although if we were going off of last season I would have selected Bachelart(sp?) cause he ran the full schedule last year and Herta for winning the 500.
But either way you slice it, each team had legit reasons for why they deserve the money.
Indycar has way too many teams that arent going to do squat anyway this season. Sarah Fisher for example, doesnt even have her engines picked yet, or a FT sponsor, but she wastes what money she has building a brand new warehouse/shop for a team that very well may be just one driver PT. In my opinion thats bad business and bad money managment as with the poor economy she could've bought any number of warehouses/factories/shops closed down and turned them into suitable shops for a nickel on the dollar compared to what she's spending as they have so many other concerns right now. Just one example of teams that clearly dont have it all worked out yet, and may not be able to get it worked out in time? Too many things are moving too fast and yet not fast enough for all the decisions not made yet, and could be a nightmare in the making for Indycar and some teams this season, but dont worry as RB will always be positive and smiling to cover it up..
Edited to add, BTW I was thrilled to see Carpenter win for Sarah and her team, but I think it was a dumb mistake for Carpenter to think he could do even better by leaving her team and starting his own--dumb--dumb. Oh well-- some drivers win and think they're so good they can start their own team--and other teams that had a win think they can build a new shop and do even better--yeh--thats going to bite them both in my opinion?

You have proven comprehensively, beyond the shadow of any doubt that you do not have the first clue in business, advertising or money management. You couldn't get a clue if you were soaked in clue-musk and dropped in the middle of a field full of rutting clues. Your posts offer nothing by way of thoughtful alternatives to the actions you profess to be unwise, misguided or doomed to fail. I'm beginning to think you will not be satisfied until the series, it's teams, sponsors and drivers are left in ruin and open wheel racing in the United States ceases to exist.
They seem like solid choices to me - Bourdais being 4 time and Ed having won a race and having a sponsor that wants to activate. I feel bad for SFHR - but I assume they are getting the Indy lights $$ for Newgarden so it makes sense to spread the money around to more teams.
Also Earl I saw this was posted twice so I deleted the one people weren't posting in.

Firstly, Ed Carpenter won a race last year, and his Fuzzy's sponsorship could get a lot of "activation" and it's for 3 years. Loyalty there. As for Bourdais/Dragon, beyond Sebastien's credentials, it's been rumored that Jay Penske scored a big-time west coast sponsor of some sort. This is not counting Legge's TruCar.
Frankly, they should have just cut it off at 20, and either divided the rest equally, or leave it out there for competition. Bachelart's quote is pretty lame, considering he doesn't even have a driver. Brian Herta is furious, given his Indy win and that he has a decent name sponsor.

He may have some cause to feel that way but he's always been a whiner. Don't get me wrong, I like and respect Brian and early appearances show he may be a good team owner but I'll never forget the interview after "The Pass".
