What happened to happy hour? The gun used to sound 2 hours before sundown when Indiana did NOT observe daylight savings time. Now that Indiana is on daylight savings time, the gun sounds 3 hours before sundown… before the wind dies down, the track cools, and the sun is lower in the sky. If we took advantage of daylight savings time and IMS changed the gun to 7pm, we would not only have faster happy hour speeds, people would have an extra hour after work to make it to the track and you would see a lot more people think it is worthwhile to head to the track after work. Also, IMS would see higher concession sales during the dinner hour.
